Ian Steedman, famous for his encyclopedic knowledge of Taiwan's bird and snake species, writes a blog called "Once Upon a Taiwan." There you will find lots of environmental stories about Taiwan's flora and fauna. Some of my favorites are his adventures researching an endangered species of salmon, preserving roadkill snakes in liquor bottles for science class, and frequenting one of Taiwan's many indoor shrimping pools.
Mark Paas, famous for his funny stories and the smoke cloud his antique Vespa scooter leaves behind him, speaks about all things Taiwan alongside co-host Dr. Max Lo on their podcast, "Taiwan No Why." In their own words, the podcast "explores the culture behind this rebel island." Some of my favorite episodes are the ones about the lucrative industries of betelnut farming and pigeon racing.
